one less mystery in the world…

So Deep Throat has been revealed. I dunno… I find it kind of…anti-climactic. It would have been more interesting if it turned out to be a bigger name…say Buchanan or Haig.

pat boone, history revisionist…

Just got back from the Vietnam Memorial ceremony. Pat Boone performed. (yeah, I know….hahahahaha). Anyway. That idiot needs to go back to school. Going on about how Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson were Christians. Sorry Pat, they were not.

annoying little things…

Can someone please tell me why software makers make their software update at the most inopportune times? ESPECIALLY the virus scanning software? I mean, come on…the defaults for doing a complete scan seem to always be during the day – like 8AM, or 1PM…or invariably when you are working on the computer. Hey guys…why not set it for something like 4AM, or if the computer is turned off, when it gets turned back on? And speaking of that sort of thing, one of the “big” two (forget if it was Norton or McAfee) has their damn software check for updates…every FIVE MINUTES. Hello? Can we say waste of time? I don’t need my computer communicating with them every five minutes. You know, once or *maybe* twice a day is MORE than enough. I’d prefer if the default was something like 2 or 3 times a week. Are there THAT many idiots out there that need scanning that often?

another show to catch…

NBC has a new series (somewhat ripped off of VH-1, if you ask me). “Hit Me Baby One More Time.” They are taking past bands and bringing them back to “compete”. The first episode, next Thursday, features A Flock of Seagulls, Arrested Development, Ce Ce Peniston, Loverboy and Tiffany.

Their website doesn’t show much, but the promo has shown Vanilla Ice, as well. Guess he’s in a later week.

getting some sleep…someday…

Got back from NYC at 12:30AM last night. Ugh…that’s a sucky drive when you’re beat.

The job wasn’t nearly as bad I thought it could be – just by the volume of what we had to do (set up two locations, one setup during the other’s actual event). It was beautiful out each day – but we were stuck inside…so no pictures from the city.

HOWEVER, there was one thing that I found very amusing. Just across the street from the Hilton is the Ziegfeld Theater. Sound familiar? How about a hint – Triumph the Insult Dog. Hmm…another hint…what opened at midnight last night? Uh huh…I know you’re starting to figure it out….

We get to the Hilton on Monday. There’s this line across the street – not really sure what it is…bunch of people, a big silver bus on the curb… We head upstairs. Take a glance out the window and suddenly….OHMYGOD! NERDS! (I still crack up thinking about it). STAR WARS NERDS! The big bus was the Geek Squad Bus! They were in line MONDAY for a movie coming out at midnight THURSDAY! Let’s see…we saw a few storm troopers, Queen Amadilla (or is that Armadillo? hehehehe), Luke with Yoda on his back, Boba Fett, and many Jedi among them. I SO wanted to walk across the street and just yell, “NERDS! NERDS!!!!” (Think Ogre from Revenge of the Nerds).

Now, I understand really being into something, and doing the whole collecting and whatnot. But isn’t this a bit far? I mean seriously… they had tents and such out there….what exactly are they going to do with them once they head inside? Are they throwaways?

NERDS!!! NERDS!!! :D
