feel like i’m cut off from civilization…

Geez, it really does suck not having a decent internet connection, nor much coverage on a phone.

(How did we ever manage to get by just a few years ago?)

Anyway…more on my Christmas trip later…I will be back home tomorrow evening, so I’ll have a decent connection then.

how to fold a shirt…

I’m still confused how she swings it around, but that’s pretty impressive.

open source software…

So I got bored, and was surfing around and found a bunch of open source software. Less Microsoft is good! :D

Instant Messenger – no AIM, no Yahoo Chat, not even Trillian anymore on this computer. I now have gaim. This program is really cool – it doesn’t do voice like the others, or video, but it has tabbed messaging – meaning only one window up at a time. Me likey.

Also, I downloaded Open Office, an alternative to Microsoft Office. I haven’t removed MS, though. That may take a little more time – at least until I figure if Open Office works well enough to use full time.

I’m going to download The Gimp, and if it works as well as Photoshop, switch to it (the big question is whether I can scan with it or not).

So that’s it for now…we’ll see what else I find.

some cool software that i got…

Don’t know if I mentioned this before, but I finally found some decent software for DVD’s and CD’s.

DVD: InterVocative Software, LLC’s Worldwide Homepage

CD: Collectorz.com

(The second one – I haven’t tried the other cataloging software, but I imagine it would work well)
