finally…a new lens…

I finally got a new lens for my Nikon. I have been using a Tamron which is a complete piece of crap. It’s almost entirely plastic, and one of the flanges (I think that’s what it’s called) is broken – so just the right bump would have knocked it right off the body. It’s now in the trash. I got the Nikon 28-105mm lens. ’bout time I got a decent lens. I still would love to have the Nikon 20mm lens, but I should probably go for a longer zoom first. I have a 70-200, but it’s only a Quantaray – about as crappy as the tampon…er…Tamron.

You can see the difference in clarity between the Tamron and the Nikon just by looking at some of my pictures. The Gatlinburg pictures were done with the Nikon 28-105, while almost everything else was done with the Tamron.

oh well…

You know, I’ve never really said much about this, but I’d love to have kids one day. But I’ve come to the realization that that is unlikely to happen. After all, it takes two.

i don’t see the resemblance at all…

At the Sacramento Airport, the lady at the ticket counter said I looked like Tim Robbins and/or Timothy Hutton.

I don’t see it.

finally…

OK, guilty pleasure announcement. Rumor is that the first season of The Brady Bunch is FINALLY coming to DVD on March 1st. (Like I said…guilty pleasure announcement).

sitting and waiting at sacramento airport…

Waiting at the airport. I have about 3 hours before my flight leaves. There wasn’t anything better to do. It got dark, and I don’t know Sacramento. So I just came out here.

Taking pictures…meh…didn’t add up to much. Old Sacramento is just like any other tourist attraction – too many people, and too many t-shirt and junk shops. Add to that, it was cloudy. Not great picture taking.

I must say though…the Sheraton had some AWESOME beds. I don’t remember the last time I was in such a comfortable bed. And lots of covers to climb under. It was nice. Though, for the price, you’d think they’d give you free internet access. But of course not. And the cutoff time for access was noon – so if I tried to sign up at 10am (when I got back to my room), it was the same price ($10), but only for 2 hours.
