home again…
It’s Sunday now. Bit chilly out there. But it’s good to be back home.

So last night was a bit of a waste. Planned on going to the observatory, and spent a good hour going from road to road only to find them closed. Finally we found a park Ranger. Turns out, the observatory is closed until 2005 for construction. So we drove around Beverly Hills and Hollywood. Got a little bit lost, too, in the Valley.

I’m in LA. Flew out Tuesday. The weather was SUPPOSED to be in the 75-80 range and sunny all week. So much for that. It’s been a little chilly (around 60-70) and mostly foggy. We’re not talking foggy in the morning, but foggy ALL DAY! Every day! Unbelieveable. Today it was supposed to hit 80 here at the airport, but in the valley, just north of here, it was supposed to be 95. That’s an amazing difference for two places only about 5 miles apart. Just shows what a mountain can do. I’ll bet it was sunny up there, too. Argh.
We went to Santa Monica last night. The pier was open, but none of the amusement park was opened. With the fog, it was pretty spooky. It was described as “Scooby Doo” spooky…just right for some old developer to be caught by those meddling kids.

Almost have one room emptied…except for my genealogy stuff and a big desk. Not doing too bad, considering I don’t have to be out of here until the end of next month. Seeing as how there’s at least three of those weekends I’ll either not be here at all, or will only be here for one day….not too bad.
On Tuesday I’m heading to LA for five days. I haven’t been in a while, and I’m looking forward to it in that respect (plus the fact that LA has sun and 80 degree temperatures forecast for next week…
But, as I’m trying to get stuff together here (and find a place), I’m not looking forward to it. Kinda torn, I’d say.
work and moving…
OK, so I haven’t posted in a week. It’s been a hectic week. We are one less at work, so more stuff is falling on my shoulders. So far, it’s not been anything too difficult to deal with. That may change in the coming weeks, as we have a couple big events coming this month and next.
I’ve started packing and paring down at home. I have to find a new place to live by May 1st. Doesn’t seem like a major deal until you count the days that I will be out of town in the next two months. Four days this month for work, Easter weekend, and about 10 days next month.
Got another set of pictures up. Carlsbad Caverns. Not a great set – there’s only so much you can shoot in a cave.
